Diana Ross launches her fourth and latest Las Vegas residency at the Wynn resort’s Encore Theater tonight. The nine-show engagement will see the Motown legend introducing a brand-new show called Diamond Diana, which is tied in to her yearlong celebration marking her 75th birthday.
The performances, which run through February 23, will feature Ross donning new costumes while she sings her many solo and Supremes classics.
You can buy tickets at Ticketmaster.com, WynnLasVegas.com, and via phone by calling 702-770-9966.
After the residency winds down, the Diamond Diana Celebration will continue with the recently announced screenings of the film event Diana Ross: Her Life, Love and Legacy at select theaters on March 26, which is Ross’ 75th birthday.
The movie features footage from the historic concert film Diana Ross: Live in Central Park, enhanced with new tribute messages from Diana’s sons Ross and Evan and daughters Rhonda and Chudney, as well as an introduction from her daughter and black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross.
Live in Central Park documents the famous free concert Diana gave in New York City over the course of two days in July 1983. More than 800,000 fans turned up for her July 21 show, but a torrential downpour put a damper on the event. Ross promised from the stage that she would return to Central Park’s Great Lawn and perform a full concert the next day, which she did, delivering an inspired, career-spanning set.
Additional screenings of Diana Ross: Her Life, Love and Legacy also will be held in theaters on March 28, 2019. Visit FathomEvents.com for more details.
