Founding KISS lead guitarist Ace Frehley goes on a rocking journey to the red planet in a new animated video for “Mission to Mars,” a tune from his 2018 solo album, Spaceman.
In the clip, which was animated by artist Chris Fequiere, we see a cartoon version of Frehley hanging out on a planet with his trusty teddy bear sidekick Spacebear, when a flying saucer appears and steals Ace’s guitar. The rocker, members of his solo band and Spacebear then proceed to hop in their own spaceship and chase the UFO to Mars, where Frehley and the other musicians are taken prisoner after a crash landing.
While Ace and his band mates are being brought in front of a female Martian ruler, Spacebear is able to grab Frehley’s guitar and throw it down to him. The whole rocking group then flee and jump into one of the Martian’s flying saucers and head back to Earth, but not before leaving behind a bomb that destroys their captors.

The clip is the second video for a song from Spaceman, following “Rockin’ with the Boys.” The album was released this past October, and includes to tunes co-written by Frehley’s ex-KISS band mate Gene Simmons, who also came up with the title of the record.
