Steven Adler's stab wound was accidental, says rep

Michael Tullberg/Getty ImagesA rep for ex-Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler says the self-inflicted stab wound the musician suffered Thursday night was accidental.

The rep tells TMZ that the wound is “very minor” and “superficial.” In fact, Adler plans to play a show in Las Vegas on July 12 despite the incident.

TMZ originally reported Thursday night that Adler had been taken to the hospital with a stab wound in his stomach. People reported that the Los Angeles Police Department had responded to a call about a possible suicide attempt.

Adler’s rep also clarifies that the drummer’s been sober for “several years.” Adler had long struggled with substance abuse, which led to his dismissal from Guns N’ Roses in 1990.
