A new video compilation featuring highlights from the last four Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies will be released on April 24 as a four-DVD set and a two-Blu-ray package.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame: In Concert spans from 2014 to 2017, and includes induction speeches and historic performances by Ringo Starr, Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens and members of Cheap Trick, Chicago, Deep Purple, Electric Light Orchestra, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Journey, and Yes, among others.
The videos also feature a variety of guest artists who helped induct the honorees and/or joined in on the special performances and jam sessions that were part of the ceremonies.
Among the many special moments featured on the discs are Paul McCartney inducting and performing with his old Beatles bandmate Starr; Bruce Springsteen honoring and playing with his longtime backing group, The E Street Band; Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich welcoming Deep Purple into the hallowed Hall; and Cheap Trick, Chicago, Jett & the Blackhearts, Journey and Yes playing their classic songs with both current and former members.
In addition to the video set, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame: In Concert Digital Album Collection, comprised of five separate albums featuring performances from 2010-2011, 2012-2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016-2017, respectively, also will be issued on April 24, via Amazon, iTunes and other online music sellers.
The releases spanning from 2014 to 2017, of course, will feature audio of some of the aforementioned highlights, while the other albums include performances by Heart, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice Cooper, Donovan, Dr. John, Leon Russell, The Stooges, Tom Waits and members of The Hollies and The Small Faces & Faces.
